Talk at Oxford Jam on Impact Investing Pledge
April 11th 2013

The vision of the Impact Investing Pledge/Holistic Wealth Movement is to lower the barrier for entry to enable people to enter the impact investing community, whatever their income. Wayne Silby, Chairman of the Calvert Fund, a multi-billion dollar fund focused on impact investing, has been a pioneer in the sector and is passionate about finding a way to encourage more people to enter the impact investing movement.
This will be a platform for investors to dedicate a small percentage of their overall investments to double or triple bottom line impact investments. A number of foundations, individuals and businesses have expressed interest in this platform. This session will be an opportunity to explore a potential launch strategy together.
Join us for a brainstorming breakfast session to discuss how to effectively launch this movement. We'd like to provide an opportunity for people to build upon their experiences in the impact investing industry and influence a movement in its early stages. We'll be asking questions such as: would community-led salons help in the development? Would crowd funding work? Who should be the initial key stakeholders? How do we ensure community ownership? What type of services/products would be helpful to offer? How does this platform help people to think about the assets they have to offer, not just financially but also in terms of their human and social capital?
